The school board and FUDTA, the teachers’ union, have spent months negotiating a new contract, but currently, negotiations are at an impasse. Recently, 93% of the FUDTA membership voted to authorize a strike, which cannot legally start until the results of the fact-finding meeting are officially released, which happened on April 16th.

The Washington track & field team is ready to start the new season strong, with hopes of moving on to championships. With a new head coach leading the way, the Huskies are prepared to excel.

The teachers and staff members of the FUSD are facing a major problem. This spring, their contract expired, and they are currently working without one. What this means for them is that as prices rise, their wages are stuck at the same level they were in the spring. To this end, FUDTA (Fremont Unified District Teachers’ Association) is bargaining with the district to give staff members and educators a new contract for the next three years.
