On this day 14 years ago, The Hatchet published this article about changing the time that school starts at. School now begins at 8:30 am, but previously in 2009 it had started as early as 7:30 am. This article talks about pushing back the start time for the benefit of students. This schedule change is especially relevant now because Washington’s schedule will be changing again next year. Block schedule will be introduced on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in fall of 2023. These block days will end early at 2:50 pm, and the rest of the week will end at 3:26 pm. As the new school year begins in August, it will be interesting to see how student’s feel about this big change.
